What IRMAA Is
The Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA) is an extra fee added to Medicare Part B and D premiums for higher-income beneficiaries. It's based on your modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) from two years prior.

When IRMAA Can Be Appealed
If a life-changing event reduced your income - retirement, divorce, death of spouse - you can file Form SSA-44 to reduce or eliminate IRMAA. We help clients with these appeals every year.
